Wysiwyg Release 7
Dal 1 Dicembre 2003 la Cast Software ha lanciato sul mercato la release 7.
Questo aggiornamento si è concentrato principalmente sulle librerie,
alle quali sono stati aggiunti :
• Circa 25 nuovi proiettori di 11 marche differenti.
• Circa 700 nuovi elementi di americana di 4 differenti marche.
• Circa 300 nuovi simboli.
Inoltre sei proiettori motorizzati sono stati aggiornati per simulare nel migliore dei modi la funzione degli otturatori.

Anteprima della libreria versione 8
Un anteprima delle librerie della release 8 è attualmente disponibile, per mantenere le librerie aggiornate il più possibile, siamo in grado di rilasciare alcuni dei proiettori che usciranno nella versione di Marzo 2004, il file WygLibR8ER1.zip contiene un file che aggiungerà i seguenti proiettori alle librerie di Wysiwyg:
• Martin Mac 250 Entour
• Martin Mac 250 Kyrpton
• Martin Mac 550
Le seguenti modifiche saranno effettuate su questi simboli esistenti.
• Simbolo corretto fronte e lato Martin Mac 550
• Simbolo corretto fronte e lato Martin Mac 600
Nota bene:
1. questi file sono in formato R8 ma possono essere utilizzati con il software della release 7 se avete una valida sottoscrizione alla release 8 (Marzo 2004).
2. Questi proiettori non sono ancora stati testati dalla Cast Software. Sono stati costruiti dalle specifiche e dai test fatti dagli utenti a nome della Cast. (Sono rilasciati in questo modo per soddisfare le richieste urgenti degli utenti e non c'è nessuna garanzia della loro accurateza. In ogni caso crediamo che ci sia una simulazione accuratamente simulata).
3. Questi file saranno aggiornati al completamento dei test.
4. Il Martin 550 utilizza il simbolo del Mac 500, il Cripton e l'Entour utilizzano il simbolo del Mac 250. Questi file saranno agiornati al completamento dei test.
5. Non è incluso lo schema dei dati, quindi gli attributi dovranno essere inseriti dagli utenti.
Per aggiungere questi file alla libreria Wysiwyg dovete:
1. Download il file Zip nel vostro Hard Disk
2. Estraetelo nella cartella delle librerie di Wysiwyg (es.c:\programmi\wysiwyg\library)
3. Avvia Wysiwyg.
4. Una finestra di dialogo vi segnalerà che sono stati effettuati degli aggiornamenti nella libreria.
5. Nel nuovo progetto saranno disponibili le nuove librerie.
Note Importanti:
Se volete condividere i file contenenti questi aggiornamenti con altri utenti, anch'essi devono aver installato le librerie 8.
Se per qualsiasi motivo doveste contattare il supporto tecnico Wysiwyg, informate che state utilizzando questo aggiornaento.
Informate anche i vostri collaboratori che state effettuando questa operazione.
Questi file saranno inclusi nella release 8, ed una volta fatto l'aggiornamento a questa versione, non saranno più necessari altri interventi.
Non aggiungete quindi questi file alla release4 8 o ad altre future release poichè potrebbero rendere instabile il software

ELC's dmXLAN New WYSIWYG Interface (english version)
As registered WYSIWYG developers, ELC lighting has now given its dmXLAN node the ability to be used in conjunction with the WYSIWYG visualization lighting software program. This allows the conversion from DMX to WYSIWYG through Ethernet and full networking capabilities.
The ELC dmXLAN nodes are ideal for use with the WYSIWYG software and they make connectivity easy. The node4 unit has 4 dmx inputs and 4 dmx outputs and a MIDI/RS232 port for passing through WYSIWYG Autofocus commands, to connected supported consoles. The 10mBit Ethernet port can be connected to the network, and the IP address can be set.
There are advantages for both rental companies as well as WYG-studios by using these nodes. For rental companies they provide and easy interface from DMX to WYSIWYG including Autofocus. For WYG-studios, multiple WYG stations can access the same dmXLAN node4, multiple node4's can be used in the same network to connect multiple consoles, including multiple Autofocus (MIDI) connections and all WYG stations can use Autofocus on the same console.
At the Ten Feet WYSIWYG Studio in the Netherlands (pictured) there are three WYG Perform stations, with two perform 2000 systems for the console operators, with which they can see their own consoles output virtually displayed.
One Perform 5000 channel system is used by the lighting designer and also projected on the big screen, for all to see the virtual show. They currently use two dmXLAN node4's for connecting the two consoles and both use 4 DMX lines each, including the MIDI connections. Now it's possible to use the Autofocus function from any position and the LD's can pre-select or pre-focus a fixture for the operators, giving them all more creative imput.
To use WYSIWYG with ELC, you need a dmXLAN Node1 for 1 DMX universe, Node2 for 1 or 2 universes, or Node 4 for 4 DMX universes. For more channels, more units can be linked through the network ports.
The dmXLAN system is a DMX and fixture management system, based on Ethernet, but it can also be used without Ethernet for installations up to 4 DMX lines. In this case the node unit will be inserted between the console and the rest of the DMX line, running the system or the lighting rig. With the dmXLAN software you can view, merge, patch, backup and monitor all the DMX lines and it's also possible to control or isolate fixtures from the rig. During set ups you can quickly test your rig without the need to install the show consoles backstage, at the same time you can be setting up your front of house lighting control position.
When the show is running, backstage technicians have access to the fixtures to test or reset them, without disturbing the console operator. When more than four DMX lines are needed it's possible to run all the DMX universes over Ethernet simply by connecting more dmXLAN node's. The dmXLAN control software is made for windows PC and pocket PC (also for easy wireless connection via Wi-fi Wireless Lan systems).
The special 'dmXLAN to WYG' software is available for free download from ELC's website and this software will run on the same PC as WYSIWYG.
